The physical properties of stainless steel precision casting are higher than pig iron, but its forging characteristics are worse than pig iron, and the demand for stainless steel precision casting is very large for stainless steel plates. Stainless steel precision casting has a high melting point, easy air oxidation, poor circulation of molten steel, and large shrinkage. The body shrinkage rate is 10-14%, and the line shrinkage is 1.8-2.5%. However, in the whole process of stainless steel precision casting production and processing, there will be some more difficult problems. Let us first understand the key points of stainless steel precision casting and other processing characteristics.

1. Because the compaction of stainless steel precision casting greatly exceeds that of pig iron, in order to avoid shrinkage porosity and shrinkage porosity in castings, most of the forging processes choose countermeasures such as gate and cold iron and subsidies to complete sequential condensation.

2. Because of the poor circulation of desolvation, in order to avoid the cold insulation and insufficient pouring of stainless steel castings, the thickness of stainless steel castings should not be less than 8 mm; the construction of the pouring system software should be simple and the cross-sectional specification should be larger than that of pig iron; Metal mold casting or hot metal mold casting; moderately increase the pouring temperature, generally 1520°~1600°C. Due to the high pouring temperature, the high hydrogen pressure of the molten steel and the long time to maintain the liquid, the fluidity can be improved. However, excessively high pouring temperature causes defects such as thick crystals, thermal cracks, vent holes and slag inclusions.

Therefore, in general, the casting temperature of small and medium-sized, thick-walled and complicated castings is about the melting point of steel +150°C; the casting temperature of large, medium-sized and thin-walled castings is higher than its melting point by about 100°C.

The processing technology of stainless steel precision casting is very crucial in the metallurgical industry. Except for a few products that are immediately formed by powder metallurgy and other methods, basically all metal manufacturing and the production of prefabricated components are indispensable for forging.
