Characteristics of investment casting castings:

Another advantage of the investment casting method is that it can forge various aluminum alloy castings, and it is very capable of forging nickel-based alloy castings. For example, the leaf of a jet engine has a streamlined outer profile and an inner wall for water cooling, which basically cannot be produced by mechanical processing. Manufacturing with investment casting processing technology can not only ensure mass production, ensure the consistency of castings, but also prevent the stress of residual knife lines after machining.

The precision of investment casting specifications is relatively high, generally reaching CT4-6 (CT10~13 for sand casting and CT5~7 for aluminum die casting), perhaps because the entire process of investment casting is complicated and jeopardizes the precision of casting specifications. There are many elements, such as the shrinking of the mold material, the deformation of the investment mold, the linear transformation of the shell in the whole process of heating and water cooling, the shrinkage rate of aluminum alloy and the deformation of the casting during the whole process of condensation, etc. Although the precision of specifications of general investment castings is relatively high, its consistency still needs to be improved (the consistency of specifications of castings using medium and high temperature wax materials should be improved a lot).

When suppressing the investment mold, choose a profiled plate with high smoothness of the surface of the concave mold, so the surface smoothness of the investment mold is also relatively high. In addition, the shell is made of a unique heat-resistant adhesive and fire-resistant architectural paint configured by fire-resistant insulation materials and hung on the investment mold. The inner surface of the concave mold that immediately touches the molten metal material is smooth. . Therefore, the surface smoothness of investment castings is higher than that of general iron castings, generally reaching Ra.1.6~3.2μm.

The great advantage of investment casting is that because investment castings have high specification precision and surface smoothness, it can reduce the machining and manufacturing work, only leaving a small amount of machining allowance at a higher position on the part. Yes, so that some castings only leave polishing and polishing capacity, and can be applied without machining. It fully shows that the choice of investment casting method can save a lot of mechanical equipment and comprehensive man-hours of production and processing, and greatly save metal materials and raw materials.
